Quarterly News Letter – October 2006
· The next Quarterly meeting will be held at the Diamond Point Fire House on Saturday October 21st at 9:00 am, all members are invited and encouraged to attend - we would like to have a quorum for this meeting.
· The completion of the drainage improvement will be discussed; the only remaining actions are to fertilize and seed the worked areas to avoid erosion. The project was completed on schedule and on budget.
· Your Board has been considering access needs to the airport with special emphasis on the North side where there are no official taxiways. A committee chaired by Gerry Mahoney has prepared a set of recommendations, which are attached to this newsletter and will be discussed at the Quarterly meeting. Please come prepared to comment on the approach suggested.
· The positions of Secretary, Treasure and a Member at Large will be vacant and we need nominations for these positions. The committee handling nominations consists of Steve Sahnow, Gerry Mahoney and Larry Reece. Nominations will be discussed at the meeting.
· We would also like you to welcome the new President and Vice President of SAPOA – Gary Getch and Jim Wilson. Your Board encourages DPAA Members to be present and supportive at the SAPOA meetings.
· Airport Day, on August 12th was very successful; we would like to show our appreciation to Tom Richardson and to Gary Getch for the raffle.
Board Meetings, which all members are welcome to attend, are held the first Thursday of each month at 7pm at the Fire House. In the event Special Board Meetings are needed, or there are changes in regular meetings, we will post them on the SAPOA Notice Board and the DPAA Website at:
