SUNSH INE ACRES PROPERT Y OWNERS ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING

January 14, 2007

 

 

 

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Gary Getch at 2:00 pm, at the Diamond Point Fire Station. A quorum was present with 5 Board members (Gary Getch, Jim Wilson, Barry Olson, Annemarie Montera and Keith DeStefano) in attendance. Kim Jacobs was present as ex-officio secretary. Ben Schrenzel, Director, arrived at 2:04 pm.

 

 

 

Minutes: Kim Jacobs presented the minutes from the October 23, 2006 Board Meeting and asked if there were any corrections. There were none. Annemarie Montera moved to accept the minutes as written; the motion was second ed and carried.

 

Treasurer's Report: Annemarie Montera presented the Treasurer 's Repor t as of Januar y 8, 2007. There was discussion about the restricted funds for the Detention Pond which is currently capped at $5,000.00, and that changing that capped amount would require a vote of the general membership at a general meeting. Keith DeStefano moved to accept the Treasurer's Report as presented. The motion was second ed and carried.

 

Annemarie passed out a SAPOA 2006-2007 Budget Worksheet and a Future Budget Worksheet, stating her concern that budgeted general fund expenses exceed income, even if everybody were to pay. There was discussion about the need to increase dues or somehow decrease costs. Annemarie noted that the current budget is not inflated; it is austere and tight. There was lengthy discussion about the possibility of e-mailing information to the general membership to save expenses in mailings.

 

 

Written and Oral Communications: Gary stated we have a notice from the

Miller Peninsula Park Recreation Commission announci ng a meeting January

22nd at 6:30 pm at Carrie Blake Convention Center in Sequim, and encour aged everyone to attend. Keith DeStefano requested that we give everyone at the Gener al Meeting the web page for Miller Peninsul a Park Commission, as a reminder.

 

Gary then presented a written communication from Olympic Excavation Company requesting a meeting with the new board "to sit down and make some sort of arrangements for the balance owing.  Gary stated we should not respond to this letter as SAPOA has an attorney.
